What is Pilates?
- Pilates is a practice based on control, precision, breathing and mindful movement. The method focuses particularly on the deep muscles, stability and body alignment to develop a stronger, more balanced and controlled way of moving.
- At YogaOne, you can practise Mat Pilates, with different styles and intensity levels, as well as Pilates Reformer at centres with a dedicated studio equipped with machines. Although both formats share the same core principles of the method, each offers a different experience and way of practising.
Benefits of Pilates
Pilates works the body through control and precision. Whether practised on the mat or using a Reformer, it helps strengthen the deep muscles, improve posture, build stability and develop a more conscious and progressive way of moving.
Strength and toning
Strengthens the core and deep muscles while toning the legs, glutes, arms and back through controlled, low-impact work.
Posture and body awareness
Helps improve body alignment and develop a better understanding of how the body moves, encouraging more conscious execution and avoiding unnecessary compensations.
Mobility and stability
Combines joint mobility and stability to achieve smoother, safer and more controlled movements, improving balance and overall body control.
