What is Barre?
- Barre is a dynamic, low-impact practice that combines barre work, postural control, precise movements, pulses, isometric holds and sequences set to music.
- During the class, the legs, glutes, arms and core are worked through controlled exercises that develop strength, endurance, coordination and stability. At YogaOne, you’ll find different styles so you can choose a more full-body, targeted or fluid practice depending on what you want to work on.
Benefits of Barre
Barre combines strength, control and rhythmic movement in a complete, low-impact practice. Its exercises work different areas of the body, improve posture and build endurance without losing precision or body awareness.
Full-body toning
Working at the barre, on the mat and in different positions helps activate the legs, glutes, arms and core within the same session. Short movements, pulses and isometric holds keep the muscles engaged and create a clear sense of full-body work.
Strength and endurance
The sequences combine controlled repetitions, sustained positions and changes in support to build muscular strength and endurance. Intensity develops progressively without relying on sudden movements or high impact.
Posture and control
The positioning of the pelvis, spine, knees and shoulders is part of every exercise. Practising with attention helps develop greater body control and maintain a more stable posture during movement.
Find your Barre style
Each style offers a different way to work the body. Choose according to the areas you want to prioritise, the level of intensity you’re looking for or the way you want to move.
